Northern Ronquil
(Ronquilus jordani)

Image ID: 263-01

Comments : I do not note these little fish too often in Puget Sound. They are easy to overlook or misclassify as a goby. During mating season, the male Northern Ronquil develops a bright blue and yellow anal fin and purple blotches on its head. I ID this fish by the dorsal fin that runs the length of the body and the yellow masking on the face.
