Blue Rockfish
(Sebastes mystinus)

Comments : Blue rockfish usually aren't this color. Usually, they are black with a distinctive masking on the face. However there a couple resident blue rockfish at this site that are albinos - I have seen them here for the last two years. As the maxillary (jawbone) does not extend to the rear of the eye and the anal fin has a straight trailing edge, this fish is clearly a blue rockfish as opposed to a Black Rockfish. Actually, it looks more like a white rockfish to me!
