Northern Spearnose Poacher
(Agonopsis vulsa)

Image ID: 129-01

Comments : I only occasionally note this fish on dives in Puget Sound - possibly because it looks very similar to the Sturgeon Poacher. Like the Sturgeon Poacher, this fish also has bony plating down it's narrow back. When encountered, I can often slide my hand under this fish and carefully pick it up without disturbing it.
