Comments : This sole is also a common inhabitant of the muddy and sandy bottoms in Puget Sound. This fish actually starts life with an eye on either side of it's head, and one eye "migrates" to the other side as the fish matures. These fish will often partially bury themselves in the silt with only their eyes exposed. Other times they will "prop" themselves up on their fins to get a better view of something. The myriad of crustaceans and other small life forms at Three Tree Point make this an ideal hunting ground for the Rock Sole.
