Comments : One of my favorite flatfish to find, the C-O Sole earns it's name from the marking on it's tail, which is actually hard to distinguish in this picture. Like other flatfish, the C-O Sole starts it's life with an eye on either side of it's head and swimming upright. Over time, one eye migrates to the other side of the head. As you can tell from the photo, the C-O Sole relies heavily on camouflage.
