Comments : This was my first encounter with this remarkable species. Yellow-eye Rockfish have been over fished, and now certain areas forbid fishing in hopes that this species will bounce back. However, as this fish can live over 100 years old and takes a long time to mature, it will take a while for recovery to occur. Usually a deep water fish, I was luck to find this fish sleeping in a cave at 65 fsw.
