Comments : This shot demonstrates the escape response that this anemone has to the Leather Star, Dermasterias imbricata. The response begins with the anemone bending in half several times to detach itself from the substrate. The anemone continues to twist, which propels it through the water. This shot is immediately after the anemone has detached, and it is swimming away from the Leather Star.
